Jason`s Garden of Remembrance Est.2009

This garden was started by me as a project to involve the younger generation in the cultivation of clivias and at the same time, honour the memory of my oldest son, Jason, 20 who was tragically taken from us on 05/03/2009.

This is my way of keeping his memory alive in gardens all over the world!

The Garden has been planted up with a wonderful selection of clivias from my collection as well as very special plants, donated by members of the clivia community.

Seeds from the clivias in his Memory Garden will be donated yearly to all interested scholars and students all over the world.  Clivia growing is a wonderful hobby and seeing these beautiful plants in flower after having taken care of these tiny little seeds for 4 years is such a rewarding experience.

Getting the youth off the streets and back into nature is one of my aims with this project. After all, our children are the future breeders of these beautiful plants.

A blog has been started as a way of communicating with all recipients of the seed packets to keep us updated on the progress of their plants, to help with any problems concerning the growing of their seeds , and just to be able to interact with other young clivia lovers from other parts of the world. Visit us at http://www.jasonsmemorygarden.za.net/

Seeds have been sent out to scholars and students in South Africa, America and Australia.

Seeds will be sent out yearly during August/September.

Contact us for any other info or if you would like to added to the list. Plants have been donated by a selection of clivia growers and a wide variety of seed can be expected in the future.

I hope this project will grow from strength to strength and I would like to thank all my family and wonderful clivia friends who have supported me on this project.
