A Celebration of Color, Form, and Breeding Passion
Each year, the flowering of Clivia brings with it a sense of renewal, creativity, and deep personal satisfaction for growers and hybridizers alike. The 2024 Clivia season has been no exception — a vibrant showcase of carefully selected genetics, unexpected beauty, and the ongoing evolution of this much-loved genus.
In this year’s gallery, we celebrate a diverse collection of blooms that reflect both classic elegance and modern innovation. From rich oranges and golden yellows to pastel peaches, deep reds, and rare pinks, the palette continues to broaden as we as breeders push boundaries with each generation. Subtle shifts in form — broader petals, more symmetrical whorls, and cleaner throats — demonstrate the refined selection process.
Of particular note this year are several new interspecific and miniata hybrids that combine exceptional traits in both color and form. These include delicate bi-colors, bold picotees, dark browns and some remarkable near-whites that edge ever closer to the elusive true white Clivia. Each flower featured in the gallery tells a story — not just of lineage and genetics, but of the patience and vision it takes to bring out something truly unique.
